MOMBASA BEACH HOLIDAY

KENYA BEACH HOLIDAY – MOMBASA

KENYA VACATION SPOTS – AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK.

One of the famous Kenya vacation spot is Amboseli National Park, a perfect destination for Kenya Safaris.  It became Kenya’s first game sanctuary in 1948.  From one has a perfect view of Mt. Kilimanjaro-highest Mountain in Africa standing at 5895 meters.  It includes grassy savanna, green swamps, seasonal Lake Amboseli and various view points.

Around the park you will see remains of tree torn by elephant herds which make some of its corners resemble moonscape or galleries of fantastic driftwood art.

Located South of Nairobi, the region is small at 151 square miles, but because of its swamp terrain it’s a magnet to all manner of African wildlife.  Throughout the park you will find Grand and Thompson’s gazelles leaping about in wild abandons.

There will be herds of elephant and buffalo, warthogs, wildebeest and coke’s hartebeest.  It’s also a home to some of the ihore famous Africans cats like leopards, cheetah and lions. You will also see baboons, giraffes, zebra, hyenas and jackals. Amboseli is a potpourri of African wildlife.

Surprisingly, Amboseli is also a bird lover’s paradise, and of course all manner of flora and fauna can be found throughout its confines. You will find phoenix palms and yellow barked acacias through the land. All that wildlife, birdlife and fauna and flora are interspersed amongst fragile grasslands, swamps, acacia woodland and plains.

Amboseli is indeed worth a safari!

KENYA SAFARIS SPOTS – TSAVO NATIONAL PARK

Amongst Kenya Safaris spots, Tsavo National Park is at its own class.  Tsavo dies halfway between the coast and Nairobi and was gazetted in 1948.  The park is famous around the world, thanks to its infamous ferocious man-eating lions.  That aside, it remains Kenya’s largest wildlife stronghold covering a vast arid region of 20,807Km2 (8,034 sq miles) almost 3.5% of Kenya.  It’s a home to the largest population of elephants in Kenya, currently sustaining the lives of 6,176 elephants.

The portion lying North and East of the road is designated TsavoEast National Park and that to the South as Tsavo West National Park.  Both combined holds over 450 bird species and over 60 animal species have been recorded in the vast ecosystem with vegetation ranging from semi-desert towards the North to coastal vegetation towards the South.Nothing gives you the real magic of a Tsavo Safari.

Grants gazelle, Impalas, Thompson gazelles, hartebeests, Klipspringers, dikdiks, duikers and elands are numerous and distributed to every corner of the park.  It also holds Mzima springs located in an oasis of shade in a hot desert of ochre.  Mzima springs is a spectacular view: rushing waters surrounded by lush vegetation and trees, with spray thrown up into the air and catching the sun to make rainbows.  Its crystal-clear water bubbles up from a mass of volcanic boulders from the Chyulu hills which creates a very efficient filter.  The water is so clear that one can see at the bottom of the pond a good spot to include on a Kenya Vacation.

While at the park, don’t fail to visit the caves where the lions (man-eaters) dragged their ill fated victims, during the building of Kenya Uganda Railway.

KENYA VACATION PACKAGES– LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

Kenya Vacation Packages featuring Lake Nakuru National Park, which is not only an ornithologist’s paradise are common.This Park is a uniquely rewarding game-viewing venue and sanctuary for both black and white rhino.  Its pink-frosted shores and sky mirrored waters yield some of the most evocatively beautiful photo-images in Africa.

Lake Nakuru has established a Kenya’s Rhino sanctuary, which boosts one of the largest black Rhino concentrations in the country while substantial numbers of white Rhino have also been introduced.  Telling the difference between the white and black rhino is not an easy task, because both are grayish in color however, white rhino have a wide flat snout suitable for grazing while black rhino have a concave back and a triangular prehensile lip for browsing on trees and shoots.  Black Rhino prefer bushy forested areas while white Rhino prefer to graze in open grasslands, mostly those of the lake shore.

The park has got three spots where one can catch the panoramic view of the lake.  They include: Baboon Cliff, Lion Hill and out of Africa Hill.  These three spots with Acacia near the main gate are perfect picnic sites.

Lake Nakuru National Park is accessible by 2WD vehicles and also by air all year round, it has two great lodges, Lake Nakuru Lodge and Sarova Lion Hill Lodge.  It also holds two public campsite and seven ‘special’ or private campsite.  The ‘special’ campsite (no facilities) must be booked in advance on an exclusive use basis,this makes the park a perfect Kenya Camping Safari destination.

Lastly, the park has self-catering accommodation Naishi house, a scenically placed twin-gabled house set amongst acacia trees with magnificent views of the park.  Facilities include: a fully equipped kitchen, dining room, sitting room, two bedrooms, WC, outside terrace and guest cottage with two single rooms, a shower and we.

Lake Nakuru indeed is a place worth of visit being amongst one of the most common Kenya Safaris Spot.
